1776 Continental Dollar CURENCY PCGS XF details $19,500

Plugged. This variety is noted for its lack of two R's in CURENCY. Designed by engraver Elisha Gallaudet, it includes elements from the $1 Continental Currency notes that were in circulation at the time, as well as some features proposed by Benjamin Franklin. The Continental Dollar ranks #30 in the latest edition of The 100 Greatest U.S. Coins. The piece offered here is a nice, sharp XF. The plug is hardly distracting at all, and presents an opportunity for someone to acquire this classic piece in this condition without the $35-45k price tag.
