1869 Gold Dollar Pattern Judd-766 PCGS PR65+BN $14,500

High Rarity-7. Struck from the regular-issue dies in copper with a reeded edge. This pattern gold dollar was presumably sold as part of a complete copper denomination set of 1869 coinage. A scant six examples are thought to be extant. Glossy russet-gold surfaces feature pleasing ice-blue accents.
